Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad Kirill has highlighted progress in the resolution of the differences that arose between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Roman Catholic Church as a result of the latter's missionary activities on the territory of Russia.
"I will not say that all differences have been resolved and everything is 100% okay, but we are actively working on resolving these differences," Metropolitan Kirill said at the meeting of the Christian Inter-Confessional Consultative Committee in Moscow.
These differences were the reason for the suspension of the Committee's operation in 2002, he said.
The Committee intends to conduct a peacekeeping policy in the CIS and the Baltic states and promote reconciliation and resolution of differences between peoples, Metropolitan Kirill said.
